ICYMI – BEEP Launches with Much Fanfare at NEDMA Annual Conference

On May 17, 2016, the New England Direct Marketing Association (NEDMA) hosted its Annual Conference and Exposition at Bentley University in Waltham, MA. The event featured exhibits from leaders in the industry and sessions from leading experts. Through a partnership with NEDMA we launched BEEP (Beacon-Enabled Events Platform), our mobile app and analytics platform for events, tradeshows and conferences.

BEEP uses Beacons to record attendee entry and exit interactions, as well as dwell time. It enables proximity-based engagement between Organizers, Exhibitors and Sponsors and Attendees. Beacons enable the capture of interaction and location data to help create a better marketing view and sales funnel. Attendees were able to view the day’s agenda, look up speaker bios, create their own agenda, and view the social chatter around #NEDMA16.

NEDMA 2016 Annual ConferenceSheri Taylor Gilchrist, Managing Director and Global Head of Marketing Services of BNY Mellon Investment, delivered the opening remarks on new digital approaches to marketing. At the end of her address, she set off the NEDMA attendees with guidance on how to best approach the marketing business. “Big data is a big nothing if you can’t get the little data right.” Gilchrist proclaimed.

We also piloted our attendee-engagement and messaging features with Boingnet, Halo Branded Solutions and Overdrive Interactive.

Other companies exhibiting at #NEDMA16 including Amherst Label, BSE, CFS, Inc., D3-Inc., Data-Mail Inc., DMM, IWCO Direct, Japs-Olson Company, Oceanos, PINE, SG360°, and USPS. Energy was buzzing in the main exhibit hall! The NEDMA Foundation Scholarship Awards also took place during the midday break followed by raffles.

The event kicked into high gear post-lunch with more expert sessions in individual, group and panel formats. Whether you were interested in content marketing, digital media, social media marketing, video, copywriting or analytics – there was a session catered just for you!

mariah-huntAs President of NEDMA, my job is to create value for our Sponsors, Exhibitors and Attendees. Once I learnt how BEEP enables real-time engagement I knew we had a winner! I don’t know anyone that’s doing this, let alone for non-profits. The App allowed us to track attendee interactions and we completely replaced our paper-based surveys. I look forward to using BEEP at future events.
